Volleyball Magazine and Mizuno’s preseason “2011 Boys Club Rankings” listed Ultimate Volleyball as the only club from the Midwest with a top ten team in each age division. One month into the 2011-2012 season and the Ultimate Volleyball Boys are working hard to prove their ranks and continue to be a dominating Midwest club.

The UVC 18 Gold Boys are currently 16-1 and won the Great Lakes Center Invite in Aurora on Nov. 19. The team is lead by Scott Fifer, Orland Park, Ill., who is setting an evenly distributed offense to attackers Spencer Sauter, Naperville, Ill., Branden Clemens, Carmel, Ind., Bobby Walsh, Chicago, Ill., and Marty Ross, Frankfort, Ill. Nate Royer, Frankfort, Ill., served 22 straight points in one set from his incredible jump serve. Their record puts them in the lead of all other teams participating in the Palos Point Series. Competition includes teams from the Chicagoland area, Wisconsin, and St. Louis.

Paced by Austin Royer, Frankfort, Ill., and Matt Walsh, Chicago, Ill., leads the attack from the middle, the 16 Gold Boys are undefeated.

Ultimate 16U teams conclude the Palos Point Series play Dec. 10-11 and are expected to depart victorious. UVC 18U teams finish up Palos Point Series play Dec.17-18. Check www.ultimatevolleyball.com for updated schedules and tournament results.
